Tasting Notes
The Dudognon family estate dates back to at least 1776 and since then they have remained one of the most admired growers and producers of Cognac by fellow producers as well as spirit lovers the world over. Their traditional methods, which include organic farming of their vineyards and no use of additives to their eau de vies, result in some of the purest, unadulterated brandy one can find and that is becoming an increasingly rare thing. Just beginning to show some signs of maturity, the spirit is at a beautiful point between rich caramel and oak spice flavors and the juicy stone and citrus fruit flavors of round Cognac that make your mouth water. The chalky minerals and deep acidity allow this to develop well into the finish.

Staff Pick Notes
Beauty is often linked with youth, but some things don’t bloom into their full splendor until they’ve developed a few wrinkles. After twenty years this Cognac shows mature notes that elevate it from the standard fresh fruit brandies to something exotic.
The nose lures you in with fermented honey, dried peaches, dry wood, and a rare aroma of lanolin. The palate is equally rich but focuses less on primary fruit and more on characteristics that can only be created by time, such as tobacco, honeycomb, and wood smoke.
While this Cognac might not be as “pretty” as younger alternatives, time has not diminished it at all. It has been molded into something beyond shallow aesthetics. It is genuinely beautiful.
