Ch. De Pellehaut 32yr Tenarèze Armagnac - 1989

Item # 36425 750mL

This single estate Armagnac was distilled in 1989 and bottled at a natural cask strength of 49.5% ABV after thirty two years spent maturing in oak casks. Owners of the estate, the Beraut family have lived in the region for over three centuries plying their trade to perfection. The depth of flavor here is extraordinary with aromas that leap out of the glass. Typical of the chateau's style, the brandy is refined and elegant as well as appropriately hedonistic. A fantastic value ready to make a convert out of anyone. Please note: Some bottles from the current inventory have a redesigned label, which is different from the website image.

Staff Pick Notes

Well, this is it! This is the ideal example, the real deal, the poster boy for old brandy. If you drink brown spirits at all, here is the proof you need to start drinking Armagnac. Sultanas, browned butter, Oloroso sherry, and dark coffee make up the exceptional bouquet. The palate is complex but not overly sophisticated. Chewy sunbaked fruit, creamy caramel, brown sugar, wet tobacco, and rich vanilla from the wood. The texture is hearty but neither too hot or tannic. Getting a 32 year old vintage bottle for a c-note is unheard of in today’s spirits world, but because it’s Armagnac it must suffer in obscurity. Tell me again, how much does Yamazaki 25 year old cost?
