The oldest expression in our current vertical of rare vintage armagnacs straight from the cellars of this regal estate. Aged for nearly four decades, this is the absolute pinnacle of the Ravignan style. The brandy opens with stewed plums with pastry that call to mind the classic croustade desserts of the region and after some more orchard fruits on the second pass, the profile quickly switches gears and reminds you how old and mature it is. Notes shift to chocolate praline, cured tobacco, darjeeling tea, wildflower honey, dried orange peels and baking spice. The palate is focused, linear, mildly spicy and dry and savory on the finish. All in all exactly what you'd be looking for in an well aged old school Armagnac.
