Writer's Tears Irish Whiskey

This much heralded bottling is a throwback to the robust style of whiskey that reached peak levels of popularity in the days of Joyce when the greatest writers of the day might be spotted enjoying a dram. The Irish style of the late 19th Century/early 20th was big with a heavy proportion of single malt and single pot still whiskies which are exclusively what make up this blend. There is a very pleasant progression here with opening notes of orchard fruits and meadow flowers that transition to nougat, pastry dough and spices on the latter half of the palate, A very enjoyable dram that will leave you with tears of joy.
