One of the great spirits of the world, each release of Liberation from this Italian master is a reminder that rum made this well has few equals. The 2017 vintage was lower yielding than the previous few and as always spent an extended period of time in the tropics aging in once used French wine casks from top domaines. Bottled at full proof, give this beauty some time to open up and behold the layers of flavor unfolding revealing notes of raspberries, white currants, yellow peach, rhubarb nutmeg, bitter chocolate and spicy tobacco. There is more than a touch of heat in the back end here. We recommend adding a dose of water.

Are you seeking one of the finest spirits in existence? If so, then you are in the right place indeed. Capovilla's Rhum Rhum Liberation 2017 is crafted from the finest sugarcane grown on the island of Marie-Galante. This exquisite agricole rum is made by an Italian, aged in French wine barrels in the full tropical heat. The result is a heady and complex spirit with some serious length. I could wax on about the bevy of aromas and flavors housed in this bottle, but I don't think that I could really do this justice. It's more of an experience than a beverage.
