Roku is the Japanese word for the number six. The name signifies that there are six native Japanese botanicals that are infused into the spirit. The hexagonal shape of the bottle echoes this idea. However Roku is also laced with eight more traditional gin botanicals. The result is a spirit that is easily recognizable as gin with balance and great mixability. When sipped on its own, the unique flavors of cherry blossoms, Japanese tea, yuzu citrus, and sansho pepper give the spirit notes that will intrigue your palate. I’ve been loving it with tonic, adding fresh herbs, and with my martinis with a couple of drops of Dolin dry.
