Staff Pick Notes

If Loch Ness has Nessie, The Loch Ness Monster, does Loch Gorm have Gormy, the Loch Gorm monster? I hope so. And I hope he surfaces occasionally for a dram of this exquisite elixir. This eagerly awaited annual release has finally arrived and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Selected from twenty-two casks (eight distilled in 2013, six in 2014 and eight in 2015) blended together to create a beautiful balance of rich fruity character with layers of classic Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus sweetness. Kilchoman Founder, Anthony Wills: “Rather than dominating, Loch Gorm’s oloroso maturation works in harmony with the natural character of Kilchoman. This release has a fantastic spectrum of flavor, from rich spices and macerated peaches to fresh citrus, ginger, orange zest and waves of salty peaty smoke.” Pair with foul weather days and coconut pie.

Distilleries started to take out licenses, and since then, the distillation industry in Scotland has been continuously expanding....
