Tasting Notes

The Aberlour brand has gone through several incarnations since the original founding in 1825 including multiple distilleries. But through its long and storied past it has always retained a reputation of excellence in quality perhaps explaining how it has managed to survive for nearly 200 years. This decades old bottle comes directly from the cellars of Luigi Veronelli in Bergamo and was originally bottled for the Italian market, imported at the time by Fratelli Rinaldi in Bologna. This old school malt style is a showcase for the medium rich style of this distillery that puts on additional layers of complexity and density with age. These days that comes with a healthy addition of oak influence as well. This old style preserves a tremendous amount of distillery character and will be an eye-opener for fans. Aside from some slight bits of wear on the front and back labels from decades spent in cellar, the bottle is in very good shape with an excellent fill level as well as perfectly intact closure and original tax stamp.
