Another top producer for the Fins Bois cru, Landier produces some of the friendliest, most enjoyable Cognacs out there. While the family has been in the region since at least 1890, cultivating vines, it was not until the 1973 that they began making their own distillate, which is what makes this historic bottling so special. Bottled from a single cask from some of their first eau de vies, this was bottled in 2018 at natural cask strength after nearly 45 years of aging.
The spirit is at an absolute peak, with well defined complexity that still retains the soft, inviting nature of this cru. The notes are so concentrated they are almost Calvados like at first with overwhelming notes of honey and poached pears in caramel sauce. With a little time, the brandy becomes more decadent with additional flavors of preserved figs, baking spices and licorice. Gorgeous, well-made with an inviting profile that reveals itself effortlessly.
