Asia is the new playground for whisky these days. Though, for many of their products, the price of admission is quite steep; and they only seem to be going up. That said, there is some value coming out of this giant continent of whiskey. The Distillery Select from Kavalan is priced to be your everyday sipper but drinks like its more sophisticated brethren. Charming malt, honeyed fruits, subtle smoke, chocolate tea biscuits, and smoldering spices. While the wide variety of flavors is great what is more impressive is the structure and proportion in which they’re assembled. Think of the color wheel. Anyone can make brown, but it takes talent to blend many colors harmoniously.
