But the lion’s share of bourbon’s overachievers are the inexpensive ones. Ezra Brooks’ flagship bottle is a great education in bourbon aromas and tastes: sandalwood, citrus, caramel, pressed vanilla, roasted nuts, butter, and char marks. Enjoying it neat you can experience a wide spectrum of flavors. Few bourbons can make the same claim. I know it’s against the grain to say this but, “good bourbon does not need to be expensive.”
