Tasting Notes

In honor of its 20th anniversary, this years Ardbeg Committee release was created from stocks aged in wine casks from New Zealand. Like nearly all Ardbegs, the whisky is not shy in the least but it is exceptionally well balanced considering the bold and seemingly disparate worlds of flavor it is drawing from. On last tasting we were reminded of notes of Bramble berries, lemon & ginger tea, spiced and honeyed porridge, heather and eucalyptus and of course a healthy dose of salty, smoky peat. An excellent Ardbeg worthy of a milestone like this. Please note this is not the full proof Committee release but the limited edition release meant for the general market.
