Tasting Notes

The coming together of history, tradition, friendship and the deep ties forged over decades between the independent organic distillers of this island and La Maison & Velier culminate in this new venture and new rum. Made from a pot distillation of slow fermented, organic fresh pressed cane juice and syrup, the rum is distilled to 144 proof and brought down to 57% abv prior to bottling. What could be considered over proof for other producers is remarkably balanced and allows this rum to explode with the incredible flavors these exceptional raw materials provide. You can sip it, mix it, have it how ever you want. One thing that is certain is that this is the real deal.

Staff Pick Notes

You may think that a new white rum is nothing to get excited about, but allow me to argue otherwise. Due in part to the rare type of cane used and the fresh cane juice, rather than molasses, that's distilled, the nose is subtle, lightly floral, and grassy with just a hint of sweetness. Take a sip though and get ready for a mélange of citrus, tropical flowers, and musk to erupt on your palate! This is no joke, my friends. Yes, it's almost 60% ABV, but it doesn't behave like other over-proofed rums. It's in a category of its own. Sure you can add this to your next Zombie or Pain Killer, but the flavor profile here is superb and worth familiarizing yourself with before adding the tropical fruits. Try it in a Ti’ Punch.
