Tasting Notes

The rare distiller that has played a huge role in the revival of Rye Whiskey by choosing to dedicate its entire whiskey making endeavors to the pursuit. The results of their efforts are beginning to deliver some serious returns with bottlings like this. Aged for six years (very old by most current rye standards) this whiskey was distilled from grain grown in the heart of the Hudson Valley and aged in a new charred fifty-three gallon American Oak Barrel prior to bottling at a natural cask strength of 56% abv. The rich burnished bronze color is a tell-tale sign for the abundance of bold flavor ranging from carmelized stone fruits, cinnamon coated chocolate cake, a potent brew of black tea, crystallized ginger, cracked pepper, and a wisp of smoke. This is the new standard for American Rye.
