Tasting Notes

An all natural liqueur made with a base of non-GMO grain spirit and 100% organic meticulously sourced botanicals. The Aperitivo features chicory root, elderberry, rhubarb root, wormwood, quassia bark, star anise, cinnamon, kola nut, gentian, hibiscus, orange zest, allspice, nutmeg, eucalyptus, cloves, coriander, angelica root, sugar, cochineal, salt. Both in abv and style this lands somewhere between Aperol and Campari stylistically, and proves to be more complex, versatile and less cloying at the same time. Made locally in Brooklyn, this independent outfit by chef Patrick Miller is definitely one to add to your pantry.

Staff Pick Notes

If you're feeling spritzy today, look no further than this delicious NYC-made aperitivo. Authentically Italian in flavor yet produced in Brooklyn, this award-winning organic liqueur from Faccia Bruto is deserving of a spot on your bar cart. Less bitter than Campari and less sweet than Aperol, it carves out a necessary and elevated middle ground between the two. Aromatic, concentrated but not syrupy, the effortless complexity of the spirit is a delight. Bitter orange, cola, rhubarb, allspice, and a host of other enticing flavors will go great with seltzer or sparkling white wine. Better yet, use it in your next americano or negroni and put a smile on your faccia.
