Elsewhere Strawberry Rhubarb Liqueur by Matchbook Distilling Co.

Item # 44811 750mL

Made from essentially two different spirits that come together to form something exceptionally unique yet incredibly easy drinking. Local spring rhubarb is mashed and then blended with a previous season's rumm based rhubarb distillate to infuse. Later in the season local strawberries go through the same process except the spirit they are infused with is one of Buddha's Hand Citrus and fresh Jasmine. Best used in with the simplest serves, like an easy mix with Champagne or other sparkling wines.

Staff Pick Notes

Let's cut to the chase here: we all long for the endless summer. Matchbook Distilling Co.'s got our back, helping to serve up your own slice of summer with this seasonal, strawberry rhubarb aperitif. A blend of rhubarb-based rum and a distillate of strawberry/jasmine and buddha's hand to proof it down. Finishing it off with a dash of Macendonian juniper for some alpine contrast, this aperitif is full of notes that remind me of peach tea Snapple, strawberry cola, fresh mint, and yellow plums. The touch of sweetness is complemented with some of that nice juniper herbal character and would fit perfectly in a spritz with a drier sparkler, soda water, and a dash of citrus to accentuate the nuanced, summer-inspired flavors.
