Staff Pick Notes

The people running this historic estate in Trelawny, Jamaica certainly know how to create an interesting and complex composition. The third installment to the previously distillery only Great House series sees Vivian Wisdom take some slightly older stocks than in previous years. Higher ester marques (50% of each LFCH & <>H) are also used for a more outwardly funky blend. True to its very transparent nature, this rum is coming out the glass with notes of overripe banana, lemon essences, orange blossoms, star anise, and beautifully integrated oak presence. Hampden is one of my favorite distilleries in the world bar none, and I'm not even solely talking about just in the world of rum.
