Grape Variety

Tasting Notes

Reminiscent of some Loire Valley Chenin Blancs, this popular North Fork white is crisp and fruity with grapefruit, pineapple, and melon aromas. It's delightfully refreshing and ends with a zippy, lemony finish. An excellent companion to shellfish dishes.

Staff Pick Notes

Paumanouk Vineyards are located on the North Fork of Long Island about 80 miles from Manhattan. Ursula and Charles Massoud started their winery in 1983 when they purchased the over 100 acres estate. Ursula and Charles' son, Kareem, carries on the family tradition as a 2nd generation winemaker. The Massoud brought their love of old world wines with them and chief among those is Chenin Blanc. Chenin Blanc from Long Island? Yes, and it's delicious. I am a Loire-a-phile through and through, and yet here is a stunning Chenin to rival Vouvray or Anjou Blanc, crisp, bright with white floral notes backed by a solid mineral streak. Check it and see!

These days, one of the most exciting stories is in South Africa, where newly...
