A bit older and bolder than the aperitif style Origin bottling, the Rare is a deft blend of whiskies aged in old sherry casks, cognac and sauternes. The profile draws you in with its fruit-driven notes of apricot marmalade, saffron, milk chocolate, marzipan, caramel, cinnamon and a hint of pimento. Bordering on the decadent this excellent spirit maintains both balance and elegance.

Scotland, Kentucky, Japan.....been there, done that. France is the next great territory in the world whiskey game and Rozelieures is the name to know. Rozelieures is a family owned operation in Loraine, just to the north and west of the fabled Alsace wine region. Still a relatively young operation (opened in 2000), they were the first whiskey makers in the region -- a region known for stellar eau du vie. Bordering on Belgium and Germany, Lorraine's world class barley was often shipped off to Germany and Holland for beer, while the peat that is natural to the area (who knew?) made it's way up to Scotland. Not anymore... My two personal favorites the "Rare" and the "Smoked" expressions, however all of their products reflect their commitment to quality.
