Tasting Notes

White Port is a rare type of fortified wine. This amber-colored bottle shows lots of nut-driven character and could easily pass for a lighter-styled Madeira. The fruit is fresh and full of citrus and almond notes. This Port is on the dry side, but still has a touch of residual sugar.

Staff Pick Notes

As one of the few estate-bottled, family-owned ports we can get in the U.S., Quinta do Infantado has always been special. While it makes a lovely, slightly drier style of dessert wine on its own, my introduction to white port was actually as a cocktail ingredient and that is where it has always really shined for me. Or try equal parts bourbon, port, and amontillado for a higher abv option that still takes advantage of the port's wonderful lightness. But I encourage you to experiment--I've tried this bottle with overproof rhum, with Suze, with fresh grapefruit, and never missed.
