Staff Pick Notes

François Rabelais is often referred to as the first great French prose author, and is credited with the 5 volume comedic work 'Gargantua and Pantagruel,' which chronicles a father/son duo of giants searching for the Divine Bottle said to hold the answer to all of their questions. Throughout the 5 books they journey through islands representing different philosophical, religious, and scientific concepts explored by famed humanist Rabelais. It is from the 5th and final volume that the name for this wine from Catherine and Pierre Breton comes from, "Trinch! That is to say, drink, for wine has the power to fill the soul with all truth, knowledge, and philosophy." If the 'great perhaps' that you seek is juicy black fruit, classic Cab Franc bell pepper, and a rustic edge to your chillable red this bottle is a great start to your journey!

In fact,...
