Simply one of the best Petite Sirahs around.
I have spent time recently with Jim at the vineyard and he personally showed me how he tends to the vines for this specific varietal. From the positioning of the the cordon to the amount and arrangement of the leaves, these aspects and others add up to grapes that yield exceptional fruit to make a balanced wine.
Hedonistic aromas that, with decanting, continuously unfold from the glass. Accessible, silky tannin and ripe fruit coat the palate. Bright acidity plays a role of lifting the wines mouthfeel.
Jim has been in Alexander Valley, Sonoma for decades, building his winery with passion and focus. He is humble but talented in his approach. What a pleasure to have his limited production of wine here in NYC.
