Wilderness Trail Astor Single Barrel Rye

Our first single barrel from what we believe to be not only one of America's top new distillers but in many ways the future of independent artisan distilling in this country was made from a sweet mash of 56% rye, 33% corn & 11% malted barley. Distilled on Monday May 11th 2015 the whiskey was bottled on March 11th 2020 after 4yrs and 10 months in a single barrel. Bottled at full proof the whiskey clocks in at 55.5% abv. The guys at Wilderness Trail are already becoming well known for their old school method of lower distilling and barrel entry proofs utilized to create and preserve more complexity of flavor both in younger whiskies and as they get older.
