Château de Ravignan 36yr Bas-Armagnac - 1985

One of the great, regal addresses in all of France where you'll find some of the top brandies this country is famous for porducing for centuries. The Ravignan family alone has been rooted in their corner of Armagnac since the early 1600s. Produced according to the strictest traditional methods and aged in a single cask at the domaine for 36yrs prior to bottling at a natural cask strength with zero additives. The character of the estate and the signature note of deep lavender terroir are radiant in the glass, while after a few minutes in the glass the hallmarks of age come forward with bold notes of dark cocoa, ceylon tea, stewed plums, sweet tobacco, old leather and cinnamon show up.
