Staff Pick Notes

Established in 1934, the De Martino winery is now run by the fourth generation of the family, brothers Marco and Sebastian De Martino. The Ungrafted project began with the 2020 vintage. The vines are planted on the Isla de Maipo (Maipo Island), an old riverbed that sits at the center of the Maipo River and is composed of gravel-based soil. The grapes are grown on old vines between 25 and 30 years old. This wine exhibits old-world characteristics and is a fantastic expression of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Expect flavors and aromas of blackberry, black currant, cassis, cedar, and graphite. Nick
