Granicera Perfil Cítrico Gin

From the land of tequila, mezcal, and rum comes a gin that finally captures the magical spirit of Mexico. Granciera Perfil Citrico Gin, which takes its name from a local term meaning “water witch,” started at Taller Astrafilia, a small Mexico City-based distillery run by partners Heráclito López and Andrés Rubio Isunza. Heráclito and Andrés set out to capture the biodiversity of Central Mexico by macerating botanicals in a neutral corn spirit made from indigenous corn grown in Chiapas. Their Citrico gin, which combines 20 locally harvested roots and herbs, is a beautiful and bright, with traditional notes of juniper and lemon verbena alongside more esoteric flavors of avocado leaf, cacao, Mexican pepperleaf, and pennyroyal. Enjoy with tonic, in a negroni, or on the rocks while contemplating the mysteries of Mezoamerica.
