Monastrell is known for big, chewy wines used for hearty foods. But the CVA Elo Monastrell from Yecla, Spain is grown at a high elevation and produces a young and vibrant fruity wine with a lighter body, a brilliant color, and good acidity. Try it in place of a bold Pinot Noir or when you have your next Tex-Mex dish. It has a wonderful mixed berry flavor. Who would have thought that the Mourvèdre grape could be made into such a charming wine?
