Staff Pick Notes

Malbec, although these days associated with Argentina, was originally grown in France. In fact, as far back as the 12th century, the British praised the "Black Wine of Cahors." This Clos Siguier Cahors is a great place to start. It's very approachable, with rich fruit (although not over-extracted) and herbal notes. Plum, cherry, and blackberry, first hinted at on the nose, burst forth with enthusiasm on the palate, accompanied by hints of black tea. Additionally, the tannins are quite smooth, making this an all around very quaffable wine (and a great value too!).
