"Our Wine" Rkatsiteli, Vineyard Tsarapi - 2019

If this wine were a pop song it might be called Take a Walk on the Wild side, Crazy or perhaps Livin' la Vida Loca! OK, so it's not the craziest wine I've ever had but it will be quite the departure for most. Fermented on the skins in amphora, using natural yeast, little sulfur, little human intervention and lots of love. What you don't get is a light, crisp, fun white quaffer; what you do get is big, firm, earthy, tannic (yes I said tannic), nutty monster of a wine that probably lives under your bed! But have no fear because this monster brought its own bottle so all you need is a glass to enjoy! This wine has a rich amber color. Aromatics span from pine to black pepper but the real fun is on the palate! You can expect anything from carrot, cider, nuts, roasted apples, nutmeg, tea, tangerine and pear. All this wine needs is a fork!
