I would say this is one of the most beautiful wines/ best values in the store. BUT IT NEEDS TO BREATH!! I opened this wine and knew it would be muted and smell very wet earth like. Within the next few hours of keeping it open I got a slight cherry note on the nose. The next night when I got home from work this bottle had bloomed into a beautiful butterfly of a wine. Literally tasting like a peanutbutter a jelly sandwich for the gods. Lots of red juicy plummy notes and a round rich nuttiness to it. Bright acidity makes the palate lively with a touch of dusty tannin. This is a wine that makes you work for its lusciousness.
