Tasting Notes

A tremendous gift for a Burgundy afficionado. This vintage was made for the cellar. Stylishly concentrated with ample spice and rich game aromas. This is old-school Burgundy from the Coudray-Bizot domaine. Hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts, fermented in open wooden vats, and bottled unfiltered.

Staff Pick Notes

"Au Bas de Combe" is one of those enchanting Burgundies, the kind that shows a dichotomy between earth and fruit. There's high-tone cherry notes that edge toward bubblegum. The earthy side smells like dried rose petals fallen on the ground. Upon drinking you'll encounter a medium-bodied wine with a mineral backbone that proclaims "I can age!" Showing savory and mushroomy flavors, I call this a very satiating bottle of Burgundy.

Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness...
