Perseval-Farge, 1er Cru Brut Réserve - NV

Item # 33630 750mL

The Perseval-Farge family estate is a mere four hectares in size and is located in the premier cru village of Chaméry. This is very elegant in style with a pearl bead texture and toasted brioche character that will lend itself just right with poultry or fish dishes. Enjoy throughout a meal and understand how having just the right Champagne means you can start and finish your meal with bubbles.

Staff Pick Notes

More is not always better. I know this is borderline blasphemous in America, but hear me out. Were those four cheese nachos really that good? Did you use that extra dipping sauce? Glad they were double fried? If the answer to any of these questions was “hell no!” then you know what I’m talking about. There’s a wonderful satisfaction in having just enough, which is what this champagne is all about. Judicious servings of citrus, toasty bread, a touch of cream, and sculpted minerals. The tiny bead makes for a crunchy texture and a nose-tickling aroma. There is time for sauce and excess, but sometimes “just enough” is all you want.

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...

Champagne

Champagne is finally getting the recognition it deserves as a brilliant food wine. For consistency and quality, turn to the big Champagne brands and you’ll never go wrong. These winemakers control every aspect of grape cultivation and vinification, from the vine to the finished bottle, which is...

Chardonnay

From Champagne to Chablis, it's hard (not to mention unpleasant) to avoid this famous white variety. During a huge popularity surge beginning in the late 1980s, Chardonnay plantings have increased dramatically -- not only in California's wine country, with which the variety is nearly synonymous, but also in Burgundy (its original, Old World home) and just about everywhere else in the winemaking world. It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
