Régnié, Ch. Basty - 2022

Item # 35285 750mL

A Beaujolais with some structure. The Régnié village is dominated by pink granite soils and is located northwest of Morgon which perhaps explains the richer tannin although this wine is still very much Gamay in its accessibility.

Staff Pick Notes

Save water. Drink Beaujolais! This wine is worth every single penny. Gamay is known for its light and killer bod. This leads many to fear it's too thin for their cheeseburger-porter-house-steak-loving palates. FALSE! Beaujolais can have serious structure and this is a perfect example! With a beautiful white granite and ripe blackberry backbone that runs through this wine, it can stand up to all the meat pies and juicy lamb chops you throw at it. Great for now or later, it's a truly excellent investment.

Beaujolais Nouveau is perhaps the most gulpable wine made anywhere, and it should be drunk very soon after its release, which occurs each year on the...
