Staff Pick Notes

I love Nebbiolo every which way, but I live in a cramped NYC apartment. I can't really cellar my wines (I need that room for scratching posts and a watering hole to satisfy my 2 cats, Pierre and Xena). And here's the thing: Nebbiolo ages so beautifully. It's life really begins at 10 years. So look a bit outside of the famous Barolos and Barbarescos to this gorgeous, absolutely classically styled Ghemme which comes pre-aged to its peak drinking window. You'll find all the joy of the grape in its tarry, rose-hipped glory, with more delicate style and plenty of aromatics. Grab a bottle for when you need to pair with truffles or fennel, or feel like indulging in rilletes.
