Passito di Pantelleria "Bukkuram" Sole di Agosto, de Bartoli

Passito di Pantelleria "Bukkuram" Sole di Agosto, de Bartoli - 2014

Item # 47503 750mL

A rare dessert wine from the tiny volcanic island of Pantelleria in Sicily. Made from the Zibibbo grape, a.k.a. Muscat of Alexandria, this is a highly traditional sweet wine. Bukkuram means father of the vine in Arabic and is the name of the area where the island's best grapes are grown. This decadently sweet wine is honeyed and densely textured, with toffee roasted nuts and ripe dates on the palate. De Bartoli's rustic style means harmonious acidity and intricate complexity through the experience. Lovely for sweet gorgonzola or any creamy blue cheese. De Bartoli’s 18th Century traditional stone farmhouse, or dammuso, is surrounded by four hectares of vineyards at 200 meters above sea level, with south westerly exposition, leading to beautiful balance on all his wines.
