Staff Pick Notes

Bedell Cellars in the charming town of Cutchogue is one of my favorite wineries to visit. From their back patio, you can taste through their wines while taking in a fantastic view of vineyards that go for miles, and the occasional deer will remind you how beautiful and deeply relaxing the North Fork can be. If you’re not planning on going any time soon, fear not, Astor has a great selection from Bedell. Their Cabernet Franc lets us know immediately that Bedell's hand-selected clones of this ancient noble grape are producing stunning wines. Aged in old French oak to preserve its elegance and finesse, this wine was fermented with indigenous yeasts using sustainably farmed estate grapes. A pretty nose of purple flowers and red fruits lead us to a juicy, fresh, focused and powerful palate with hints of cigar box and that cab franc pepper.

In fact,...
