Distilled by the young mezcalero Don Rodolfo Juan Juárez from 100% espadin agave, this 2017 small batch produced a run of 2,340 bottles total. Made in a minimal traditional method the spirit is distilled to a natural proof of 47.7% ABV. Round and lithe on the palate the mezcal balances flavors of desert with minerals, smoke and sweet herbs.

Alipus Mezcal's are village specific and terroir driven. They are also some of the friendliest Mezcals I've tasted. The prerequisite smokeyness is there, but it is super light. Their release from San Juan Del Rio is a softer, fruitier, herbal style that is immensely pleasurable to sip on. This is a terrific place to start your Mexcal journey
