Equipo Navazos, La Bota PX, "La Casa del Inca"

Item # 27629 750mL

A rare treat! 2010 yielded a fresh and delicate vintage PX of surprising complexity and structure, in spite of its copper-toned youth. This collectible Sherry comes form late-harvested grapes that have not been barrel-aged, but rested in cone-shaped vessels, which have been used in Montilla-Morales for centuries. Casa del Inca, in Montilla, is the former residence of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, a 14th century Spanish poet.

In 2005 they started to select specific butts of...

In Rioja, Navarra, and the Ribera del Duero (which have the most stringent requirements) red Crianzas must be aged a minimum of two years; Reservas, at least three...

Pedro Ximenez

Also known as PX (thankfully to those of us who have a dislike of words that begin with x’s), this dessert-style fortified wine is made entirely from the highly-sugared Pedro Ximénez grapes. PX’s are intensely, almost syrupy sweet, and are ideal drizzled over vanilla ice cream (or over your waffles, if you like to drink in the mornings). If you’ve got a serious sweet tooth, PX is for...
