Staff Pick Notes

This is what great wine is all about. It checks all the boxes and will suit wine novices and enthusiasts alike. Meinklang is a renowned Austrian producer whose family-run farm is in the middle of a national park on Neusiedlersee Lake. Their dogmatic approach to farming and wine making is as iconic as the cow silhouette on their labels. The cows themselves are integral to the process as they fertilize the vineyards, making it a full 360 operation. This Pinot Noir is fermented in open stainless steel, and undergoes 8 months of aging in used oak barrels giving it more texture. The fruit is sharp and focused, the acidity is balanced, and it has herbaceous notes in abundance. It's a stellar wine to sip on its own, and it's possibly even better with food. A wonderfully grounded wine from a garden of earthly paradise. Does it get any better?
