The opposite of what dominates the market in the Cognac category, this multi-generation family run domaine is the quintessence of artisan savoir faire and tradition. Made exclusively from grapes grown on the family's single vineyard parcel in the premier cru of Grande Champagne, the minimum age for all of the brandies blended into this cuvée is 35 years with some far exceeding that. There is complexity, balance and a multitude of flavors but most impressively perhaps, this is simply full of joyful pleasure that is easy to enjoy, another hallmark of the exceptional quality you will find in your glass with this rare gem.

Very old spirits are not inherently high quality. They should be measured with the same yardstick we use for every other drink. An empty glass. When the packaging and marketing campaigns are removed from the equation you’d be surprised how few 30+ year spirits can stand on their own. The youngest brandy in this blend is 35 years old yet the final product is lively and refreshing. Lightly tanned leather, fruit leathers, walnut oil, savory spices, plump yellow plums, nectarines, and peach tea. I don’t like Ragnaud Sabourin because their bottles are shiny. I like that when I sip their brandy I sigh and smile.
