This is not your average mega-purple Malbec. With only five to six hours of skin maceration, Cinq a Six is a gorgeous gem-toned, translucent ruby in the glass. Bright red fruits dominate with wild strawberry, dried raspberry, and sour cherry on the palate. Bracing acidity makes you salivate, which makes this wine an ideal aperitif. Enjoy on its own before a meal, with the most elaborate cheese and charcuterie board you can pull together, or with tuna and salmon sashimi. The wine may present a bit "reductive" upon opening. Let it breathe in the bottle (or decant!) for maximum enjoyment.

Malbec

Known as Côt throughout much of France, Malbec is the dark-skinned variety that put Argentinian wine on the map - and likewise, Argentinian Malbec saved the grape from near obscurity. The Cahors appellation in France still relies on Malbec to distinguish many of its wines, but the area is exceptional in this regard.
