The rare Avesso grape in native to this northern region of Portugal, and produces strucutred and round dry white wines. This comes from 20 year-old vines, was vinified and aged in stainless steel, and sees a few hours skin contact. Pair with caldo verde with chouriço.

Avesso

Unlike most grapes grown in Portugal's Vinho Verde region, the white Avesso (meaning "contrary") is able to ripen enough to produce wines with 12-13% alcohol. Varietal wines from the Avesso grape have recently appeared on the market.
