Staff Pick Notes

A slightly savory herbal dessert wine that tastes like an aged Sauternes? Sign me up! While you would generally expect dessert wines labeled as Beerenauslese to be coming from German Riesling, this is a unique and excellent expression coming from a family of winemakers in Austria that has been growing wines since 1887. They are some of the premier specialists of Sauvignon Blanc outside of France and it shows! This has everything that you would expect out of Sauvignon turned up to 11. Gooseberry, floral honey, and dried herbs dominate the aromatics. On the palate expect racing acidity that keeps this from finishing with cloying sweetness alongside concentrated peach and some cream. At your next meal that you host be sure to finish with a glass of this, lightly chilled.
