Tasting Notes

100% Freisa grown in calcareous clay soils in the Langhe. The grapes were macerated o the skins for just under a week before fermentation. Aged in old Slavonian casks for a year before bottling. The Freisa grape is known to be a parent of Nebbiolo and while it shares a clear characteristic backbone to the grape, it too can age marvelously.

The Freisa grape produces delicious red wines in a variety of styles - both still and sparkling, dry and sweet. In each of its many iterations, Freisa remains a very fruit-driven, juicy variety; the wines make excellent matches with light appetizers.


Dry, delicious Cava is an excellent Champagne alternative. The best examples are aged on the lees (the spent yeast cells used in fermentation) and show complexity to rival that of the best Champagnes.
