Tasting Notes

Picpoul de Pinet is the uniquely Languedoc white grape with stern minerality and zippy clean acidity. Here, one finds a classically austere style, a deceptively golden color and light, clean minerality. An easy choice for oysters and all briny shellfish. Winemaker Claude Jourdan works the estate her mother started in 1983. She has 45 acres of Picpoul growing on red, iron-rich soils.

Staff Pick Notes

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Picpoul Pinet from the Languedoc, thank you for your visit the other night. I sometimes forget how wonderful your presence is but every time you come around it is always a delight. Your demeanor is very relaxed and you always seem to fill the air with aromas of flowers and orchard fruit. I will be sure to invite you to our next dinner party as you always know how to perk up a meal, especially when we're having shellfish, or maybe we'll just hang out on the porch with a glass of wine! Cheers!
