Production Methods

Practicing Organic

Wine made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides in the vineyard.

Tasting Notes

Dark garnet in color, this luscious Apulian red wine is opulent and has a nose of aromatic flowers alongside Morella cherries. It's a blend of 3 indigenous grapes - each of which are harvested at separate times and subsequently fermented separately until blending before bottling. The result is this Metiusco bottling which is a reference to the regions former Greek colonization. Drink best with a slight chill.

Staff Pick Notes

This majestic red wine is from Salento in Apulia in southern Italy. A common practice in the warm lands of Salento, the grapes (Black Malvasia, Negroamaro, and Primitivo) that make this wine are harvested late. This creates an amazing bouquet of flavors with lots of dark fruit notes like plums, blackberries, and prunes. It’s recommended to chill this wine. I would suggest a pairing of spaghetti alle vongole, insalata di rinforzo, and one of my favorite southern Italian desserts, the cannoli.
