Bierzo is an ancient winemaking region located in the northwestern corner of Spain. The Mencía grape variety thrives here and results in a heftier version than what you typically find in neighboring Ribeira Sacra. This bottle emphasizes plush fruit more than anything. Excellent with a slight chill and the type of Spanish red wine that works well at the table with just about any salty fare.
