Production Methods

Wine made from grapes grown organically using natural composting techniques and special preparations of herbal sprays while following the astronomical calendar.

Tasting Notes

Made from 100% Nero d'Avola. The wine is fermented with ambient yeast and aged in concrete vats for nine months followed by three months in the bottle before release. Vibrant red fruit and structured tannins make this a fine match cured meats and pasta dishes.

Staff Pick Notes

Attenzione! I've found your summer red. Look no further than this pretty little bottle of COS Nero di Lupo, which translates to "Black Wolf" in Italian. This wine is 100% Nero d'Avola, aged for nine months in concrete vats and unoaked, which lets the wine's vibrancy shine through. Though the COS winery is located in South-Eastern Sicily, the higher altitude at which the grapes are grown gives the wine an incredibly light freshness and keeps alcohol low--just 11% The result? A completely quaffable wine with vibrant fruit notes of summer raspberries and dark cherries, matched with structured tannins and a backbone of minerality. It goes perfectly with a picnic of meats and cheeses. Amp up the summer refreshment a notch by serving this wine with a light chill.
