A Danish mead made with honey, sour apple juice, hops and cinnamon. This can be enjoyed slightly chilled or warmed as a mulled wine. This can even be aged. There will be some sediment at the bottom of the bottle as well which comes from the spent yeast.

Staff Pick Notes

One of my favorite stories in Norse myth is about how Odin stole the Mead of Poetry from the jötunn. It's a bit too dirty to relate here (so many old myths are), but it's always fun to remember how far back traditions of brewing, farming, distilling, and the roles they play in every culture go. So I had to try a bottle of this as soon as it came in. The Odin's Skull comes to us from Denmark, and drinks like a more comforting pet-nat, with a touch of sweetness and aromas that bring to mind cider apples, raw wildflower honey, and cinnamon toast crunch. It's got a little bit of wildness and cloudiness, but it's purely delicious on the whole. Drink it, and you just might begin to feel inspired.
