Plantation Original Dark Rum

Plantation continues to amaze with this entry in their portfolio; the Plantation Original Dark Rum packs a huge flavor punch. It's spicy, fruity, complex, rich and can add a level of depth to your cocktails and play ball with other rums at twice the price. Like their other expressions, this is the product of a double maturation process. Aged for three to five years in heavily charred oak in the humid T&T climate, it is then moved to France for further aging in a medium-toasted French oak cask. This is a rich and flavorful dark rum that’s great for cocktails but works well for sipping neat, too! The nose shows molasses, black pepper, and a hint of green. The palate gives a weighty, full-bodied spirit, showing savory notes and spice cake. The finish reveals cooked caramel, tropical fruit, and brown butter. $17.96: big rum, small price.
